Legacy Street Academy is a registered California 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization based in Sacramento, California, by Founder and President, Trevor L. Smith, with a clear mission to make free creative, visual, performing arts education, fitness, martial arts training, social support services, and paid work and entrepreneurial opportunities available to those in need in the Sacramento area, across the United States, and around the world, with a vision to unite the world in the battle against world hunger, homelessness, and human trafficking.
“A Better YOU. A Better ME. A Better WORLD.” Trevor L. Smith
Legacy Street Academy was started in 2021, however, LSA’s founder has been teaching free music, martial arts, writing and film classes since the late 90s. And it was even well before then, going all the way back to 70s that legend would say the initial spark and inspiration behind Legacy Street Academy ignited in Trevor as a child; when he was introduced by his parents in song, to a fictional character in a children’s book and musical named, Little Dancin’ Jonny, written by Trevor’s dad. And after learning some invaluable life reaffirming lessons and some powerful truths from his parents who understood the tremendous value and benefits of the Arts and artistic expression, unbeknownst to Trevor, the path for Legacy Street Academy was being paved.
The story and original song recordings from Little Dancin’ Jonny that were sang to Trevor as a child, that he listened to and sang growing up, and still listens to today, were of course not about Trevor. But then again… you’ll have to be the judge of that when you hear the story.
Legacy Street Academy is from our family to yours, and it exists to help people from Sacramento and around the world, unlock their full creative and life potential, by ensuring that everyone has free access to life-enriching and life-changing education and training, opportunities, and resources to help make their lives better… We believe that helps us to become better. And us together living our best lives? We’ll surely help to make our world a better place.
The MOVEMENT. The MISSION. The VISION.
